Day 23: #Australia, Sydney

We put our bicycles on friday evening in a cupboard and spent 3 days in and around Sydney.

#Get Wet Part 1 - Adventure Canyoning
On Saturday we were invited by John and Mardi to a canyoning tour in the Blue Mountains including a “real” bush walk. That day was the pearl of our Sydney stopover @ John and Mardis place. They had organized all the necessary equipment (wetsuits, harnesses, shoes, dry bags, karabiner …) in advance and planned the tour for us. He and Mardi guided us very professional, so we felt safe all the time and we could really enjoy the canyoning tour. It was a lot of fun as well as awesome, very impressive, breath taking,… the light, the colours, the steams, the shapes, sounds, …

We will never forget this unique day! John even showed us the “glow worm caves”. For me – Johann – it was quite difficult to get there because of my enormous waist circumference :-( . Finally I managed and could enjoy the absolute darkness and thousands of glow worms. It was like starry sky. John and Mardi thank you sooooooooooo much for that day.

#Get Wet Part 2 - Surfing & Beaching
Of course we had to visit the famous beaches in Sydney. First we started to spot out the Manly beach, nearby where we stayed the last days. Great spot, but the highlight was Sunday on the well-known Bondi beach. Imagine, all inhabitants of Kempten go beaching at the same time to the Alpsee. The result? Overcrowded but lovely :-)

The first one finding Claudia on the picture will get a free drink when we are back in Kempten :-)

John gave us some surfing lessons on his neighbours surf board in front of his flat right under his balcony (perfect place to live - it's like heaven). Afterwards we were encouraged to improve our surf skills on our own and started developing our own surfing style. LOL.

It was soooo much fun. We thought about buying a surf board and carrying it with us on the way to Brisbane. But unfortunately our bags are already full :-(
